Bulletin From Bromham: Dateline – Sunday 14th August 2016

Here is our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:

1.       Team GB (Greater Bromham) have prospered in the first week of the Bromham Olympics, winning a number of medals.  Successes so far have included:  bouncing up and down a lot, making a horse walk sideways, jumping into the water, jumping into the water side by side, sitting backwards in a very thin boat, riding a bike without brakes or lights, hitting a ball with a stick, throwing an oval ball to someone else.

2.       Bromham Casuals kicked off their East Wiltshire Germolene League (South Premiership) campaign with the now-traditional 4-0 home defeat to Heddington Wanderers.  After showing no early promise whatsoever, Casuals went behind when their keeper accidentally threw the ball into his own net.  Further problems ensued when star striker Dwayne Mooney headed through his own goal, followed by being shown the red card for aggravated petulance.  The crowd, consisting of almost seven people, booed the team off the pitch.

3.       For details of these and all other Bromham stories, don’t forget to listen to local radio station Carrot FM.
