Bulletin From Bromham: Dateline
– Sunday 1st January 2017
Here is our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:
1. Bromham
welcomed in the New Year in traditional style last night with a £1 Lucky Dip
bag from the village shop, followed by a few sherbets in The Wounded Ferret,
culminating in a massed brawl in the High Street. Several of those involved in the fighting
said it was one of the better scraps of recent years. Only five arrests were made for drunk and
disorderly offences. As the church clock
struck the hour of midnight, villagers celebrated by letting off a packet of
sparklers in one the back gardens.
2. In
her New Year message to the village, Parish Council leader Theresa Green
appealed for a calm & constructive approach to Wexit. She vowed to work as hard for the five people
who had voted to remain part of Wiltshire as for the seven who voted to
leave. She made no mention of the
several thousand who had not bothered to vote at all. She praised the wonderful workings of
democracy and said that she hoped for more of the same in 2017.
3.

radio station Carrot FM.
