Drivel From Devizes: Dateline – Sunday 2nd December
2018
Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:
1.
Scientists
at D-Town’s Central Science Laboratory were celebrating last night after
successfully guiding an experimental 49 bus service to land in Trowvegas, on the
far edge of our Wiltshire galaxy. Many
in the non-scientific community had not believed that such a long-distance feat
was even possible. A spokesperson for
the successful project said “we particularly wanted to use Trowvegas as our
landing spot because we wanted somewhere with zero atmosphere.”
2. And, in a further
escalation of the simmering border conflict with Marlborough, three
narrow-boats and their crews were seized by the D-Town navy as they attempted
to navigate the locks on the K&A canal near Crofton. Local boaters and lock-keepers have been put
on full military alert, and the canal café has been stock-piling supplies of
tea and coffee in anticipation of
additional military activity.
