News From Bromham - Dateline Sunday 5th July 2015

Bulletin From Bromham: Dateline – Sunday 5th July 2015

Here is our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:

1.       In a last-minute rush to the polling-booths, Bromham residents have turned out in force to vote in the Village Referendum.  The result, which will help to decide whether the bus-shelter in the High Street should be painted racing-green or duck-egg blue, could have impacts throughout the County.  The Wiltshire wide “experiment” of using a single colour for bus-shelters throughout the zone, may have to be abandoned. The English Central Bus-Shelter (ECB) organisation is not prepared to loan Bromham any more blue paint if the villagers vote against the latest proposals, which may lead to Bromham  to opt out of future County-wide initiatives (Brexit).

2.       Following the Bromham Ladies’ Football Team loss in the Wiltshire Cup (Wonderbra Division) via a dramatic last-minute series of five own goals, the girls have “bounced” back by winning their third-place play-off game in Bra-silia. “To be honest we felt like real tits when we lost that game”, commented captain Norma Snockers.   “We decided we had to win or bust this time. The fans have taken us to their bosom, so the least we could do was to make a clean breast of things.”

3.       For details of these and all other Bromham stories, don’t forget to listen to local radio station Carrot FM.
