Drivel From Devizes: Dateline – Sunday 2nd September
2018
Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:
1. Yet again
D-Town sets the trend. It was announced
this week that the popular coffee bar in The Brittox known as Ye Olde Coffee
Shoppe has been bought for nearly a fiver by mega-corporation Irn-Bru. It is expected that the now-iconic YOCS brand
will be spread far and wide throughout parts of Scotland that no-one has ever
heard of.
2. And, in a shock move, it
was announced that another shop acting as a pay-day lender, loan shark and pawn
shop (known locally as The Loan Arranger) has gone into Administration. Immediately after the announcement the shop
was inundated with offers to lend it money at extortionate rates of interest,
particularly by citizens with what passes for an ironic sense of humour.
