Here is
our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:
·
In
the long-expected Parish Council reshuffle this week, several senior
councillors were demoted to the chairs at the back of the hall, whilst several
newer members were asked to sit just a bit nearer to the front. None of these movements are expected to lead
to the slightest difference in Council Policy, but it does at least make
everyone feel as if something is happening.
·
A
row has re-ignited over the Parish Council’s commitment to not giving approval
to a second landing strip in the field at the bottom of the hill for Bromham
International airport. Supporters of a
rival scheme to build an island in the middle of the stream near Five-Acre
Field, where a new airstrip could be built, protested in the High Street. They were led by an unidentified,
floppy-haired blonde man, who spoke for over half an hour, but no-one was able
to understand anything that he said.
·
In
more positive news this week, the Parish Council has given permission to Fred
Piglet to build an extension to his barn at The Common. The building work which this project will
provide is expected to keep at least three men in work for a couple of months –
a real boost to the local economy.

radio station Carrot FM.
