Bulletin From Bromham: Dateline – Sunday 4th September 2016

Here is our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:

1.       The new leader of the Parish Council, Theresa Green, is attending the group of Wiltshire leaders (W20) in Trowbridge this week.  She is expected to announce the oft-repeated mantra that Bromham shares “a special relationship” with the super-power of the Unitary Salisbury Authority (USA), although no-one can actually quote any examples of what this actually means in practice.  But there May (geddit?) also be some awkward moments with the leaders of the Chippenham delegation over the decision to delay the go-ahead of the construction of the giant aerobic digester in the village.  The price of a pint in The Wounded Ferret is expected to be unaffected.  There is no connection with the beatification of Saint Theresa in Rome today.

2.       This week in the village there has been quite a lot of weather.  Both Monday and Tuesday were full of weather.  Whilst Wednesday was fairly quiet on the weather front, Thursday and Friday had quite a lot of weather.  ‘I’ve never seen so much weather,’ commented one village local.  Saturday and Sunday have always had a lot of weather, so all in all it’s been quite a week for weather.  That’s village life for you.

3.       For details of these and all other Bromham stories, don’t forget to listen to local radio station Carrot FM.
