Drivel From Devizes: Dateline – Sunday
14th January 2018
Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:
1. D-Town
Council has announced a number of changes which will make it much more “strong
and stable”. The bloke with the keys to
the stationery cupboard will now assume janitorial duties, the lady who used to
answer the phone will now bring round the tea-trolley, and the two secretaries
who work in Administration will swap desks.
The gardener moves to door-keeper, the door-keeper moves to handyman,
with the handyman taking up the keys to the stationery cupboard. No senior posts in the actual Council were
affected in the making of these changes.
2. And people
in The Vize have, as usual, taken to heart the usual health messages at this
time of year. “Dry January” got under
way in the town’s pubs when most of them offered special deals on Dry Gin, Dry
Ginger, Dry Martinis and Dry Cider.
3.
For
details of these and all other Devizes stories, don’t forget to listen to local
radio station D-Town F-Off.
