Bulletin From Bromham: Dateline
– Sunday 4th January 2015
Here is our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:
1. In
the inevitable post xmas wind-down, Bromham has begun clearing-up
operations. Tractors have now made it to
outlying hamlets through the drifts of abandoned Christmas trees, turkey
carcases and leftover plum pudding. Sprout-ploughs have also cut a route through
the High Street to allow bus services to re-commence. Thousands of litres of
turkey soup have been put into deep-cellar storage, and the set of Christmas
lights from the village’s Christmas tree have been crammed back into their box
for next year’s festivities.
2. Bromham
did its bit to welcome in the New Year.
Villagers George and Anthea Piglet reputedly stayed up for at least ten
minutes past midnight, celebrating with a glass of Tizer and the lighting of a
lone sparkler. As everyone else went to
bed at a decent time, this report could not be confirmed. There were, however, no wild celebrations, no
firework displays and no crush of crowds.
Police and ambulance services were not called out, their crews left
twiddling their thumbs back in their bunkers.
Apparently it is now 2015. Hurrah.

radio station Carrot FM.
