I’m in love with my life-guard
She’s safely watching over me
As I thrash around in the water
And I think her name is Emily

Her lovely hair is long and fair
As the swimmers do their lengths
She gazes from high up in her chair

Though she never notices me
Perhaps some day she’ll save my life
What a miracle that would be

Though it’s hopeless I can see
