Recipe for: HERB DUMPLINGS
Ingredients:
- 115g self-raising flour
- 115g suet
- 115g fresh white breadcrumbs (optional)
- Fresh or dried herbs to taste (chopped)
- Salt & pepper
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
Method:
- in a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients
- then add the eggs, stirring to form a soft dough
- use your hands to work the mixture smooth
- divide the dough into 8-12 dumplings, then drop
into your stew or whatever and cook, covered for 35-45 minutes (depending
on size)
- the dumplings should fluff up & increase in
size, so don’t overcrowd the pan
- the liquid they are cooking in needs to be at a
good simmer or boiling and the pan must be covered to keep the heat &
