Drivel From Devizes: Dateline – Sunday 5th August 2018
Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:
1. The leader of
the Official Opposition on D-Town Council has at last spoken out directly in
the ongoing row about Anti-Sainsburyism.
He distanced himself from earlier comments which had implied that any
criticism of the state of supermarkets in general could be attributed to Anti-Sainsburyism,
and related how he himself in the past had, on a number of occasions, been
known to visit Morrisons or Tesco, and in one instance even Asda. And some of his best friends have worked for
M&S Food Halls.
2. And, after an anxious
and nerve-wracking six-week hiatus, mostly caused by the heatwave and the World
Cup, citizens of The Vize were once again able to indulge their addiction for
watching a losing football team, as D-Town played its first fixture of the new
football season in the Germolene (South) Division, the 52nd tier of
the EFL. And fans were not to be
disappointed as a flurry of late decisions, sendings-off and penalties led to a
heart-warming and welcome 12-0 home defeat.
