Drivel From Devizes - Dateline Sunday 8th May 2022

Drivel From Devizes: Dateline – Sunday 8th May 2022

Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:

1.      The results of the local elections are finally in.  The D-Town electorate were awoken from their slumber of sheer fascination to learn that nothing much had changed.  Everybody who voted (turn-out nearly 7%) cast their votes for the same candidates as last time.  And the time before that.  And the time before that.  So, as expected, the steaming dog-turd with a blue flag stuck in the top of it was duly elected as the next Tory representative to Wiltshire Council.

2.      And locals have been transfixed this week by the daily revelations emerging from D-Town High Court, played out on DBC (D-Town Broadcasting Corporation).  Her at No, 7 High Street is being sued by Him at No. 23 Long Street over something that she may or may not have said, one afternoon last year.  Her at No. 7 is counter-suing Him at No. 23 for defamation of character, slander, libel and being morbidly obese.  Daily tit-bits of “she-said-he-said” are being by supporters of both factions to prove their respective points, but also to adorn souvenir tea-towels, mugs, book-marks and car-stickers.
