Yellow Peril

Yellow Peril

There was a young leader named Clegg,
Who our pardon decided to beg,
With apologies so thick
It made us feel sick,
Not funny, even if he stood on one leg.

He should never have signed up to that pledge,
Whilst his party was still waiting to fledge.
Now he’s in trouble,
The polls burst his bubble,
The Lib-Dems about to fall off the edge.

Their blatant U-turn made us all wince,
With so many promises broken since,
A party that’s yellow,
Needs a great fellow:
It’s time they sent the word out for Vince.

So let’s put our cards on the table,
Elect a new leader that’s able.
Don’t let us worry,
But say “sorry, so sorry!”
Sorry about Clegg: now let’s have Cable!
