Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:
1. Townsfolk have been queuing round the block to see the opening performances of the new Bond film “No Time To Fill Up With Petrol” starring Jerry Can and Phil McCarr. It follows earlier films in the franchise such as “From Melksham With Love”, “A Greggs Is Not Enough”, “Devizes Never Dies” and “TrowVegas Another Day”.
2. The combined effects of Covid, Brexit, recent volcanic eruptions, Californian wildfires and the melting of the polar ice-caps have resulted in some dramatic shortages in local life, including intelligence, common sense, humanity, a sense of proportion and a complete absence of a sense of humour. It is not thought that hiring thousands of lorry-drivers, butchers, hospitality staff and care workers is going to fix any of these problems any time soon.
