News From Bromham - Headlines on Sunday 18th March

Bulletin From Bromham: Dateline – 18th March 2012

Here is our weekly round-up of events from Bromham:
·         The vicar of St Knickerless in Bromham, Ivor Pugh, has thrown his dog-collar into the ring for the contest to appoint a new Archbishop in West Wiltshire.  Since the resignation of the pompous prelate, and the undignified scramble to fill his post, speculation has been rife that the ambitious Pugh would be “up for it”.

·         Dave Wentwrong, the leader of Bromham Parish Council, and the head of the Field Land Owners’ Party (FLOP), has arrived back at Bromham International Airport after his three day diplomatic visit to Blackpool.  The Mayor of Blackpool, Mark Embalmer, rolled out the red carpet for Wentwrong, treating him to a 50-minute ride on the corporation tram (Seafront One) as the two leaders attended a local pie-eating contest in Fleetwood.

·         It is expected that in the Wiltshire Council budget statement on Wednesday, measures will be announced to allow Bromham’s village shop to open for thirty minutes longer on the day of Bromham Carnival, in an attempt to boost the local economy.

·         For details of these and all other Bromham stories, don’t forget to listen to local radio station Carrot FM.
