Here is our weekly
round-up of events from D-Town:
1. Citizens
of The Vize are up in arms (literally) after the Town Council banned the
wearing of back-facing baseball caps in the interests of public safety. The reasons given are that a) it looks pretty
stupid, b) it’s a big fashion mistake, especially for those aged 40+ and c)
nobody in the UK seriously plays or supports baseball anyway.
2. And
people in the town are professing surprise that the year is passing so
quickly. Having not spotted that Last
Night Of The Proms was a couple of weeks ago, that shops are stocked to the
ceilings with Christmas goods, and that supermarkets are over-flowing with
pumpkins and Halloween tat, they are probably going to be quite shocked when
the clocks go back, the weather gets colder and they find themselves singing a
drunken chorus of Auld Lang Syne.
