Here is our weekly round-up of events from D-Town:
1. The shortages of key skills in the community has now reached such a pitch that a decision has been made to employ local prisoners from HMP Erlestoke to fill in the gaps. Prisoners convicted of knife-crimes will be employed as butchers, pick-pockets as fruit & vegetable-pickers, getaway drivers as HGV drivers and armed robbers will start a new career as the providers of PCR tests.
2. And the world of entertainment has been rocked by the comeback of long-dead dinosaurs of the pop world using the technology of avatars to continue performing from beyond the grave. Elvis “The Pelvis” Presley will start a new world tour at the Bristol Hippodrome on Sunday using Elvotars, Bing Crosby is making a new album of punk-rock covers with Jim Morrison, and Buddy Holly will appear in concert with the Cricketars.
